Well, no one needs reminding about how hot it has been. We’ve had room temperatures too close to 30 degrees for comfort, on many days. We’ve researched how to keep cool and taken advice but needed more than our excellent fan.
And yet climate change deniers [and especially those with great power] fail to use and support the technological skills, our human resources, and our shared wealth to make the right decisions. We are grateful to all who are working to find ways to make our world’s present and future safer.
Deniers Definition: “Someone who refuses to accept the existence, truth, or validity of an established fact, event, or consensus (Cambridge dictionary on Google search”).”

Barbara of late had a fall and although a hospital visit confirms there is no fracture the pain persists. As one friend put it “as we age our bodies take longer to heal.” True. Of course we wonder who people are referring to as being elderly!!
Beyond that we’ve seen Adam and Philip and Sian’s family for Tony’s 86 birthday – see two photos. Our carers care. We still have some regular visitors. Barbara goes to our local (still walkable) LMC church - including to worship, women’s group, crafting, for a coffee.

We add the view from Tony’s seat - A poem and a drawing, the drawing came first!
Tony Holden poem ‘colours’ [see drawing 4 August 2026]
I’ve looked through these sliding doors
Throughout this exceptional hot summer -
(Not from the wheelchair but from my chair) -
At blue sky;
A long terracotta tiled-roof with squirrels and birds;
Our green garden with trees, shrubs, pots, olive tree
Plus, six brown wooden panels with concrete posts;
The reset grey flagstones
With model cow, cockerel, butterfly, dragonflies;
And (close to the glass) my black wheelchair-ramp.
All this waits to be interpreted and used
Shared and enjoyed – as does human life.
