Tony and Barbara new blog

We have been a tad pushed this month since Barbara had an overnight in Queens Hospital Romford. “I’m now home and doing ok,” Barbara writes. We thought to share photos of two of Barbara’s outstanding plants – a clematis and a chrysanthemum - plus a new poem by Tony. Love and peace from us.
Tony Holden poem - about 13.8 billion years
When I’m in my wheelchair in our garden
I look up at many different birds. I reach
Beyond the vast (blue, grey, or cloud-filled) sky.
There I find the narrative we share – the story
Of the universe, matter, life, human life on earth.
I take in its strangeness and impossibility –
That some embrace as wonder,
Many name with the end-word ‘God,’
And others spoil through wickedness and violence.
I try to own its otherness and thisness
Together with all we humans are achieving
Together with the best of our own lives.
