Barbara –it has a fragile beauty

The allium were in the garden when we moved into our flat. This one, in a glass vase, has gradually dried out. When I look at I feel that it is ‘fully there.’ It is very spiky. Its shape and structure give a certain robustness. It makes you hold your breath at its beauty and fragility.

Tony poem – meditative-focus

*

“Without going outside, you may know the whole world. Without looking through the window you may see the ways of heaven [Lao Tzu ‘Tao Te Ching’ 47].”

This is a time and space

Where time slows down

And a sense of place is no more.

This breathing stillness

Opens-up each intense moment:

Here the strangeness and wonder

Of human life on planet earth resonates

Here a lifetime’s stories are recalled.

*

And then {think of

Writing a poem, doing a drawing

Saying a prayer, being close to a friend}

Words and feelings merge into one thing

And the experience of focus becomes,

This day, more than enough.
