We all have the desire to make a good story out of our lives or even a story out of our good lives. We understand that autobiography, memories, letters, novels and poems are also diaries: as indeed are drawings or music or research and much else. So, we talk and write and sign and sing. So, we try to dodge the burden of all that is fraudulent or exploitative or threatening. So, we take the hint from covid-19 that diary-keeping is a good idea.

We had our first Zoom meeting with the children in Abu Dhabi. It was great. A much better connection than Skype. Lockdown has resulted in much greater interaction with our distant grandchildren which has been a real bonus in an otherwise frustrating situation.
